30TH ANNIVERSARY BASH UPDATE
(from July newsletter)
30th Anniversary Show - Saturday September 9th
It is hard to believe we have been working on this thing since January and now we are down to less than 8 weeks until the show. There is still a lot of work to be done and probably will be right down to the wire. Since last month, we have had several things come together. Cowboy Dodge has come on board as a major sponsor providing the $500 Best of Show prize. Through the efforts of Christina Seals, Advance Adapters has contributed a $300 gift certificate for a door prize. Cindy and Richard Cisco have volunteered to head-up the concession stand. Anyone who could help with this, please call Cindy at 634-2918. She has also scored commitments for sponsorship from the Hitching Post, Town and Country Liquors, The Plains Hotel and Dan-D Rental who is supplying a 20'x20' canopy for the band. This week, I am sending personal letters, with flyers, to all of the contacts I've made in the industry over the years, including the editors of all the magazines, asking for their help and support. Hey, throw enough "hooey" against the wall and some of it will stick! We only have 8 weeks left to go, folks, so we really need to roll on this thing. Sponsorships and dollars are looking pretty good right now but we still need more. We need to hammer down for door prizes and participants. Get the flyers out -- get the word out -- talk to people.
Happy Trails,
Rod
