Just as you enter Penrose, take a right (east) onto 3rd street. This is marked as the road to that takes you to Brush Hollow Reservoir. Take a right (north) onto E Street (also CR127). Follow 127 northbound for several miles. You will cross two cattle guards an then come to signs pointing out the trailhead.
